She grabbed international recognition and admiration by giving the world the unforgettable moments in the history of sports by scoring the first ever perfect ten in asymmetric bars at the Montreal Olympic Games in 1976. In the following years, she was able to score another perfect 10 giving her the distinction of being the youngest Olympic all-around gold medalist at only 14 years old. In addition to helping Nadia Comaneci attracted attention from every angle, but she also helped Romania to establish itself in the international map. Through achieving a feat which was impossible to achieve heroism in sport, the athlete brought gymnastics into the spotlight of global attention.
